my encounter with a MO

a few days back, on a Saturday, i was down with fever,

(of all days i could get sick, a Saturday, tsk)

which left me on MC till Monday.

booked in on Monday night instead, 

and came to realise red spots are starting to appear on my hands and legs, 

and apparently it's getting more.

i was worried, and decided to report sick next day morning.

went to the medical centre, seen  the Medical Officer (MO),

(a pretty fucked up one from what i heard from my friend)

and later on waited patiently for my medicine.

As i was waiting for my name to be called to collect my medicine and status slip,

which apparently they missed out and left me waiting for 3 hours,

i saw something rather disturbing.

Main Point.

As i was waiting, there came this emergency case whereby the guy's thumb was severed.

Coincidentally, the MO just went out for lunch just a few minutes before the guy came.

Yes, i saw the exact moment where the MO left for lunch and in less than 5 mins, the guy came.

The medics was anxious to find the MO, called him, while attending to the guy.

Then a few minutes later, the MO came, slowly and rather carefree, towards the room.

I thought perhaps he is a doctor and have seen bigger case, hence the cool and steadiness.

But not until what i saw later that i realised it's not the case.

He came out after he attended to the guy, 

which happens that another medic was squatting down inside the pharmacy room 

to find some drugs and unknowingly shown part of his fresh,

which the MO was laughing at and telling the medic beside him to see.

Besides that, while waiting for all that paper work to be done for a transfer to NUH,

the MO was actually talking about ji pa fan and all concerned for his lunch.

That all happened before the guy exactly left the camp's medical centre.

On top of all his i-don't-give-a fuck attitude he gave me while i went to see him for my illness,

he is even giving that same attitude to a emergency case, out there.

WTF.

Like hello! He doesn't seems to care.

Don't he know that every second wasted could just left the guy a finger less permanently.

Not in any way the MO was concerned in getting the guy sent out fast

and in fact a lot of time was wasted from what i see.

I see all the medics running around, doing their part, but not the MO himself.

Damn dulan.

By the way, he's Dr Siah from Sungei Gedong Medical Centre.

As much as i know, he is also serving his terms in NS.

But i am pissed at the fact the he's a Captain, a professionally trained doctor

and he is giving that that sort of attitude.

He is dealing with lives mind him.

He is not treating illness/patient with his heart. 

Can be seen he just want it be done with and get away with work. 

His lunch is more important than a life.

That very much explains for a previous case of NSF death at my camp's medical centre.

I always believe, not matter how you hate NS, how you hate army,

do your part

and well enough,

you will gain much more

and you will never know what you do or not do might affect others.

Think about it.
