my mum came back home
with another set of letters from MINDEF,
1 for me and 1 for my parents,
apart from the set i received last year.
As i thought it was just some sort of enlistment reminder,
i left it at a corner first
until my mum opens the letter for parents
to find out that changes were made!
So I opened mine and saw this:
THE ENLISTMENT ACT (CHAPTER 93)
ENLISTMENT NOTICE (FULL-TIME/OPERATIONALLY READY NATIONAL SERVICE)
1. You are hereby required under Section 10 of the Enlistment Act (Cap 93), to report for enlistment on
06 Mar 2010 at 9:45am
to BMTC SCHOOL 1
As you did not attain the required NAPFA Test Standard, you will be attending a 8-Weeks Physical Training Phase Programme followed by 9-Weeks Basic Military Training.
(Side note at bottom)
This EN will supersede the EN for 04 Mar 2010.
In short, my original enlistment date on 4th March
has been pushed to 6th March, a Saturday.
Friends of mine enlisting on 4th March or 5th March
has also been changed to 6th March, but of different timing.
Clearly, results got to be on the 5th March!
Likely that they want to avoid releasing us to collect our results
1 day after or on that day of our enlistment.
ARGH. 5th March. So fast! 我的天啊!
Oh. And the computerised letter smell bad.
It has a very strong old office paper smell. 臭死了!
